Article 1.01 Basic speed rule
No one may drive faster than is safe for the traffic, the weather and the road surface at the time, whatever the posted limit says.

Article 1.02 Residential streets
The limit on a residential street is 25 mph unless a sign posts a lower one. Each full 10 mph over the limit adds a step to the fine.

Article 1.03 School zones
Within 500 feet of a school the limit drops to 15 mph while children are present or the beacons flash. Fines double on school days.

Article 1.04 Uncontrolled intersections
Where no sign or signal governs, a driver yields to any vehicle already in the intersection, and to the one on the right when both arrive together.
