When will it be available to everyone?
For now, we will allow a margin of 7-15 days for all our BETA users to try it out at their own pace, and our team will have sufficient time to collect and implement the feedback received.
We plan to release the final version by mid to late February.
UI Kit vs Design System
At Koala, we want to make a clear distinction between:
- The style sheet
- The document with components and pages
At Koala, we are focusing on the atomic design methodology, which allows us to work at different layers or levels. On one hand, we want to deliver lightweight documents. If we combine everything, we end up with files that are too large and inefficient for day-to-day use.
On the other hand, there are users who are only interested in the UI Kit. The UI kit encompasses all the styles and primitive elements of the Design System. The Design System includes all the pages, components, and templates.
When will you release the Design System?
It's a good question, and it will indeed be the next major update. For now, we have concentrated on releasing the UI Kit. In Q1 of this year, we will deliver version V2, which will be the Design System with 200+ pages and templates. We have named this addition "blocks & pages."
For now, we will continue to focus on taking things step by step, updating the product every week with small improvements that will make a difference. And then, each month, we plan to make a slightly larger update.
Best regards.
